I think I said something about this on Facebook, but thought I would do a post about it here. A little while ago Lincoln learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. He absolutely loves it now. When the weather started to get warm we started to get the bikes out and I thought I would teach him how to do it. Well the first few times were not good. So I decided I would wait until summer. I told him that he needed to practice balancing with his training wheels on and worked on it for a few weeks. Then about a month ago we were at my parents house and he wanted to ride a bike. However, we did not have his bike and they do not have any with training wheels right now. So I asked him if he wanted to try it with one of the little bikes. He did and he just took off after one or two times of me running on the road beside him. It took him about 2 or 3 more days to figure out the turning, stopping, and starting by himself stuff, but he did a great job. I'm not sure how great this video is, it is from my phone.

Happy Birthday Mercedes!
This past Sunday I was lucky enough to share Mother's Day with Mercedes' 2nd Birthday. We had waffles with strawberries and whip cream for breakfast. It was very yummy. And maybe next year Todd will even make it for me;)
We had lots of Disney balloons. They were fun for everyone.
The beautiful birthday girl. I can't believe she's 2. These past two years have been so great and she is such a sweet girl. We all love her so much.
Mimi and Papa bought our kids a swing set for their birthdays. Mercedes LOVES to swing. I'm sure if I would do push her she would swing for hours.
Lincoln and Mercedes seeing the swing set.
Present time! She was so cute opening her presents. After every present she would smile and say "tank ooo". I love her tiny little voice.
A pillow that Grammy made her. She loves it in her bed, but can't sleep on it because it is a bit fluffier than her other one.
She laid on it for a little while. So sweet.
Lincoln's present to her was a ball.
She loves books. Sometimes she will be in her room for a few minutes very quietly and when I go check on her she will be looking at books and talking.
My mom made her cake.
She did a pretty good job blowing out the candles. Happy Birthday to my baby girl!

Youth Track Meet
The elementary puts on a little kids track meeting every year and we decided that Lincoln would have fun running in it this year since he always likes to race us to places, the car, the door, the mailbox, etc.
He did the standing jump and got 6th place in his age group (K and under) with 38 inches. He ran the 100 m and the 200 m. There were a ton of kids running the 100 m so he didn't place in that event.
Mercedes had fun wandering around the in field during the track meet.
I ran along side the track for the 200 m to keep him motivated. He got 5th in this event (out of 5 kids, we won't tell him.) He did a great job and had fun.
Spring Concert
At the elementary where Lincoln attends preschool they do a Christmas concert and a Spring concert with the kids singing and the 5th grade does a few band numbers. Well the preschool always goes first so that they can sit with their parents afterward. The theme for this concert was 50 Nifty United States. The music teacher explained that she had a hard time thinking of a good song for the Preschoolers. She decided on the one they sang because the tune is Arkansas, I think.
This is the 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool together. Lincoln only has 7 kids in his 3-year-old class. I loved watching him sing. He made me giggle because he was so loud and so into it.
