UUUGGGHHH!!

Some of you look at this and think, uh the dreaded pacifier, binky, passy, etc. For me I think, Oh how I love thee. I wish that my son loved thee again. So recently, last four nights, my son has realized that the binky helps him to fall asleep. He also realizes that he doesn't like that. So now he refuses to have the pacifier in his mouth at all. He gets very tired and won't go to sleep now. Instead he screams, and screams, and screams. So the dreaded cry - it - out stage is here. If it would work, I might rock him to sleep or something of the sort, but the babe won't let me do that either. He just knows and starts to fuss as soon as we get into his bedroom. I'm thankful that at least he still sleeps for about 10 hours at night, just getting there takes about 2 hours. We are definitely praying for this stage to pass.

Stats of a 4 month old

I can't believe how the time has flown. Already my precious little baby is four months old. It seems like just yesterday I was pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing to get him out. But he is here and he is wonderful. He has started to become so active. I can't believe how much he talks and moves. The doctor wanted to know how I am doing it so that Linc sleeps about 12 hours a night. He wanted to know if I was giving him a Heineken or if I was just lucky. We'll let you decide. Anyway the stats are
25 and 1/4 inch long - 75%
14lbs and 5 oz - 50%
42 cm head circumference - 50%
He's kind of sliming down, which is okay at this point just don't want him too skinny. Anyway here are a few shots of the wounds. He screamed a little during the shots and then quieted down pretty quickly after that.
I also cut his hair again. So that the top would be the same or about the same length as the rest. I know a haircut every month, isn't that supposed to happen when he's a little older.

Highchair

Well we got a new highchair for Lincoln. Many of you may ask how we can spend so much money on baby things. I will answer that with an "I don't know." When Todd and I got married, I realized that there were a lot of things where he was good at it and I was bad at it or vice versa. We seemed really compatible in so many areas. It didn't take long, however, to realize that we are both bad at spending money. We just can't seem to keep any in our pockets, it burns a whole if we don't spend it soon enough. Spending money on Linc is even easier than on ourselves, so I guess that is why we have so much stuff for him. Some of it we don't even use, like the mobile that I had to have for his crib. It really just gets in the way. But nevertheless, we are trying to be better, and hopefully we have enough baby stuff for awhile.
It is really nice to have a highchair because Lincoln feels left out if he isn't at the table when we are eating. This way we don't have to hold him and worry about our food ending up in our laps or in his.

Love This.....

Well I absolutely love when Lincoln falls asleep like this. However, I don't like when he wakes up by throwing up. Todd and I were pretty sick this weekend and have been praying and hoping that Linc wouldn't get it. Well he threw up twice today. So sad. I hope that he doesn't get any worse though.

Manila Park

He likes the wind in his hair.
My two boys.
Well we got to see everyone from Labor Day again this Saturday, we met at Manila Park in Pleasant Grove so that we could see Ivy, Spencer, and the boys. To bad the boys got sick and we actually didn't get to see any of them. We missed them. But we had fun anyway. Linc liked the swing.

Nathan

Well on Friday Mandy and Eric had to go to a dinner at BYU. Lucky for us because we got to babysit Nathan. He was so much fun. It really is crazy how much a difference 4 months makes when they are under 1. Anyway after a very messy blowout and a bath we really had some fun.
I'm holding Lincoln in the background yelling to Todd to help the poor kid out. Todd thinks it is to much of an opportunity to pass up a picture.
What a cutie. There was one picture opportunity that I missed though, Todd put Lincoln on Nathan's back when he was crawling around, it was ADORABLE. Anyway we had fun and can't wait to see cousin Nathan again.

Attempts at rolling over

Linc is getting so close to rolling from back to front. He's been doing front to back for so long now that I'm ready for him to do something new. He also started laughing. He doesn't do it when you expect it, like when you are trying to get him to do it. No he laughs at things like, me using a paper cutter, Kenna looking at him, etc. Can't figure the boy out yet.

Labor Day

On Labor Day we went out to Justin and Rheanna's to hang out with them and Mandy and Eric. It was fun to see everyone since we haven't seen them much since Lincoln was born. We stayed from about 1 until 9. And we played lots of games. It was really fun.
This is our sweet baby in his new outfit.
Payton with Lincoln. Hyrum wanted to know why Lincoln couldn't do the things that Alec and Nathan could. I tried to explain to him, that at this age a couple of months makes a BIG difference. I think he understood at least mostly.
One of the many games. We all love Ticket to Ride. I think Mandy won, but now I can't remember. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Working Mom

Sorry about the lack of blogs lately. I first of all have to say how great I think working moms are. It has been really a hard adjustment for me to work and to be a mom. (Not that I don't think full time mothers are awesome, I mean that is what I aspire to be.) And I only work half time! So for anyone out there who is a full time worker and a full time mom, props to you. I'm still working on the adjustments. It is probably a little bit harder being a teacher because I always feel like there is more that I want to do, but when I get home to see Linc, I don't want to do anything else. It probably is even made harder to do work at home when I get so worn out and stressed at school anyway that I just don't want to bring it home. 26 little five year olds can really take a lot of energy. I really wish I could just stay home all day with my beautiful babe. But I do love the blessing of having this particular job and in this particular school, despite my many complaints. It really worked out perfectly to have Lincoln so close to where I work so I minimize time away from him.
