Babysitting

This last weekend we had Hyrum, Payton, and Alec overnight while Rheanna and Justin went on a trip with some friends. It was a fun experience. We played some Wii. Hyrum absolutely loved all of the games. He really wanted to play the car game a lot. At first Payton and Hyrum would just be going in circles for about 10 minutes before I would ask if one of them would like some "help". But by the end Hyrum could actually finish the race all by himself. Payton on the other hand would just kind of give up and just have her car sit in the middle of the track. However, when I asked if she would like help, she would always decline saying that she could do it. Alec was so cute just watching and trying to play when they put down the controllers. Rheanna I do promise though that we really didn't play the Wii for the whole weekend. It was a lot of fun.

Out Longer

Well Linc has made it to the day when he has been out in the world longer than he was in my tummy. Yeah. Yesterday I took Lincoln to his 9 month appointment at the doctor. My child keeps falling lower and lower on the percentage scale. I still think he is pretty perfect. Here are the stats for those interested.
Height - 27 and 3/4 inches - 25-50%
Weight - 17lbs 11 oz - 10-25%
Head- 45.5 cm - 50%
Here are some things that Lincoln can do:
-Pull himself to standing on almost anything
-Cruise around objects
-Crawl all over
-Use the pincer grasp
-Pulls himself up on the TV stand to watch
-Chase Todd or I around
-Says MaMa and DaDa - we aren't sure if he knows that is who we are though
-Has figured out object permanence
-When he is tired he lays his head on my shoulder (only in the rocking chair though)
Linc is the bright spot of our days and we love his personality. He is so fun and we can't wait to see all the things he continues to learn.

The Cook

Lincoln is in that lovely stage where he gets into everything. So I've resorted to turning the cart in the kitchen and blocking the bookshelves in the living room. It helps, but he can always reach things that I don't expect him to. He loves my cookbooks for some reason. I thought it was so funny because he looked like he was getting ready to make something wonderful.

Road Trips and Such

Well over the last few weeks we have been out to Eagle Mountain a few times. At the end of January we went to Nathan's first birthday party/Dow Dinner. I didn't post any pictures of him because I thought I'd let Mandy do that. On the way out there Lincoln fell asleep while drinking his bottle. Todd couldn't see it so I took a picture and thought I would show everyone else how cute he is.
We also took a picture as a family. We don't get many of those because I am the one always taking the pictures and Lincoln is the main focus of our pictures.

Update

Well since I haven't really posted in awhile I just wanted to let you all know what we have been doing lately. Mostly I mean Lincoln, but hey he's what you all are looking for anyway. Keeping clean, chewing on everything. Lincoln loves taking a bath in the big tub. He can't decide if he likes the drain or the washrag better. He'll crawl back and forth from one end to the other and he loves to splash the water. It's so cute.
Snuggling Daddy. Well he loves to do this and watch TV at the same time. We are starting him young. We definitely treasure the moments when he actually snuggles with us, because they are few and far between.
Climbing up the stairs. The first one anyway. He only goes up to the second stair and sometimes falls backwards off of them or I rescue him.
Looking for a new bed. Lincoln loves to crawl on the kitchen floor. It must be the different texture/temperature. But he likes to go out there and either play with the rug or pound on the stove.
Crawling. Linc's been doing this since about Christmas, but I finally got some video of it to put on the blog.
Well we've been busy as you can tell, but we are definitely having fun watching our little boy become not so little anymore.

Porter Rockwell

Our new nephew was born on Friday evening and his name is Porter. Not Porter Rockwell though, I just think it's funny. He came in about 2 ounces less than Linc, so he is a big boy. But still very little. We all instantly fell in love with this sweet tempered little man. I don't think McKenna has really figured out that he is going to be staying at their house forever now. She just loves babies. Congratulations Megan and Jim (I tried not to give too many details so that she could when she gets the chance). I'm posting some pictures for my sister in Iowa, so there are a lot.

Love this laugh

When we were at the airport, Todd was playing with Lincoln making him laugh. It was so funny.
