Being A Mom

Well, today my little baby turned a year old. I can't believe how much he is a part of my life and my heart. Every time I think of the blessing he has been in our lives, my heart grows a little bit bigger. Lincoln is such a sweet baby and he has such a fun personality. I'm grateful to be his mother and I hope that he is grateful that I am. Here are a few pictures of him over the last year. (Captions are under the pictures.)
Minutes after being born. He had some pretty awesome marks from the forceps. I loved that hair from the moment I saw it.Month 1 - This was about the time he turned one month old. He was starting to lose his hair on the sides, I was pretty sad.Month 2 - I can't believe all that hair. Month 3 - He looks so much the same and so different at the same time. Month 4 - When he actually still liked to fall asleep with the binkie.
Month 5 - I love this picture. I know it's a little silly, but I made him hold that leaf. Month 6 - He was rolling, but still relatively immobile - I miss that.
Month 7 - Crawling...EVERYWHERE.
Month 8 - Why do we buy toys?
Month 9 - What a handsome smile.
Month 10 - He finally got his first tooth at the beginning of this month.
Month 11 - A favorite past time - chewing on his finger.Month 12 - He's a year old. Time flies.

Nothing Much

Well, I know it's been awhile and nothing really has happened for me to blog about. I'm just not one of those creative people who are great about writing about everyday things. I just usually end up sounding lame, so I won't be doing that. We are all doing well, enjoying the spring. Todd is enjoying being out of school for the summer and spending more time with Lincoln. I have been trying to find a full time job for next year - ughh in so many ways. Lincoln has gotten his second tooth and is still getting into everything. He loves to eat tissues or any other soft product like that. He likes to pull all of his diapers out of the tv stand everyday. He loves stairs (just not going down yet). He loves playing with other kids (or poking their eyes out and pulling their hair anyway.) I can't believe how the past year has flown by. Well here are a couple of cute pics/video of Linc. Enjoy.

Outside

Earlier this week when it was so beautiful outside Lincoln and I went to the park and took a little walk. Lincoln loves swinging and watching all of the kids that are playing at the playground. After swinging and watching the kids we walked back home. I put him in the grass to take some pictures and it is so funny to watch him in the grass. He doesn't really like the feeling of grass, so it is the only time that I can count on him to sit in the same spot for more than 2 seconds. He also likes to try and eat leaves, trash, grass, anything that he can reach in his little semi circle. If I turn my head for a second, he usually has something in his mouth when I turn back around. It is fun to watch him when he goes through new experiences. I took a lot of pictures of him so hope you like them.

A Tooth

He really has a tooth now. It came and stayed. The first one kind of came and then disappeared. I do have witnesses if you don't believe me. But this one is here to stay. He only has one and it is on the bottom. So funny. I tried to take some pictures of it so here ya go.

Here is a cute video from when I was trying to get the picture. The sun got in his eyes, it was funny.

Here is another video from when my parents were here. Linc was looking through a book. Cuteness.

McKenna and Lincoln are such good friends. She is always very aware of where he is and what he is doing. Whenever I go to get him after work, she will usually say, "Kayee, Leencn." and then proceed to take my hand to show me where he is. They like to play together as well. Lincoln was trying to hug her the other night, but it kind of looks like he is wrestling her.

Babysitting

This last weekend we had Hyrum, Payton, and Alec overnight while Rheanna and Justin went on a trip with some friends. It was a fun experience. We played some Wii. Hyrum absolutely loved all of the games. He really wanted to play the car game a lot. At first Payton and Hyrum would just be going in circles for about 10 minutes before I would ask if one of them would like some "help". But by the end Hyrum could actually finish the race all by himself. Payton on the other hand would just kind of give up and just have her car sit in the middle of the track. However, when I asked if she would like help, she would always decline saying that she could do it. Alec was so cute just watching and trying to play when they put down the controllers. Rheanna I do promise though that we really didn't play the Wii for the whole weekend. It was a lot of fun.

Out Longer

Well Linc has made it to the day when he has been out in the world longer than he was in my tummy. Yeah. Yesterday I took Lincoln to his 9 month appointment at the doctor. My child keeps falling lower and lower on the percentage scale. I still think he is pretty perfect. Here are the stats for those interested.
Height - 27 and 3/4 inches - 25-50%
Weight - 17lbs 11 oz - 10-25%
Head- 45.5 cm - 50%
Here are some things that Lincoln can do:
-Pull himself to standing on almost anything
-Cruise around objects
-Crawl all over
-Use the pincer grasp
-Pulls himself up on the TV stand to watch
-Chase Todd or I around
-Says MaMa and DaDa - we aren't sure if he knows that is who we are though
-Has figured out object permanence
-When he is tired he lays his head on my shoulder (only in the rocking chair though)
Linc is the bright spot of our days and we love his personality. He is so fun and we can't wait to see all the things he continues to learn.
